Chickenshed

Chickenshed is a pioneering and inclusive company that makes beautiful and inspirational theatre that first began in 1974.  Primarily based at our own purpose-built venue in North London, we bring together people of all ages and from all backgrounds to produce outstanding theatre that entertains, inspires, challenges and informs both audiences and participants alike. Our vision is a society that enables everyone to flourish, and Chickenshed’s mission is to create entertaining and outstanding theatre that celebrates diversity and inspires positive change.

Chickenshed runs children’s and youth theatres for over 800 young people, operates three nationally accredited education courses, engages in community outreach projects and has established a growing network of ‘sheds’ across the UK and two in Russia. We are unique in developing and celebrating the creative energy of people who would never normally meet, much less have the opportunity to work together to produce life changing theatre.

Accessibility

In terms of specific provision for our performances, we offer Captioned, Sign Interpreted and Audio Described performances. Dates and times are available on each of the individual event pages found in the what's on section of our website. (There is a filter to enable shows with accessible performances to be identified.) Our theatre spaces are also accessible to wheelchair users and other people with mobility requirements - these seats can be booked online, or feel free to contact our helpful Box Office team to discuss anything you might need to help with your visit.

We offer a reduced rate to patrons attending specifically for our Accessible Performances (Captioned, Audio Described, BSL interpreted, and also to wheelchair users) usually equivalent to the lowest price ticket available for that performance, if these seats are not accessible or where one could not access the services from here.
