Things are Getting Spooky with Our Magical Museums!
Fantasic For Families

This Halloween, have some ghostly fun at your local museum. This October we’re celebrating the magic of museums at the most magical time of year – Halloween! Head to your local museum for some spooky fun.

Those in the North East, why not head to Northumberland's Woodhorn Museum for their pumpkin trail? Keep your eyes peeled for all of the Jack-o’-lanterns hidden across the museum and colliery. Detectives who can find all of the hidden pumpkins can complete their trail sheet and win a small prize! The pumpkin trail runs from the 27th October to the 4th of November.

At Waddesdon Manor on the 27th and 28th of October, visitors can experience a Fete Worse Than Death, This two-day Halloween party is filled with petrifying party games, frightening face painting, spooky stalls, their famous Spooky Halloween Trail and much more – something for everyone to enjoy!

Elsewhere on Saturday the 27th, Headstone Manor and Museum are hosting a Halloween Spooktacular! Their annual event returns to their 500-year-old Great Barn and features an array of free themed children’s activities including Spooky Storytelling, Meet a Friendly Ghost, Potty Potion Brewing, Creative Crafts, Headstone Trail Hunt and plenty more. It will be a barrel of laughs (or squeals)!

New this year is their spooky guided tour of the 14th century Manor House and brand-new museum. Featuring immersive performances, real life stories and an array of characters, this tour is suitable for ages seven and above.

Delicious hot food, drinks and sweet treats will be available plus many other themed activities at a small charge. Why not embrace the spooky spirit and attend in fancy dress to receive a free edible eye ball on entry!

Keeping with the Halloween theme, at Chesterfield Museum on the 30th of October, parents and children can get creative with StraightCurves at their Halloween Horrors craft sessions. With JumpingCLAY, pumpkin magnets, spooky hanging spiders, mini model pumpkins and Halloween story time and objects to handle, these free activities are fun for all the family.
